牛吉山，男，博士，副研究员，硕士生导师。 1988 年兰州大学细胞生物学专业毕业，获理学学士学位。 1988-1997 年在山西农业大学任教。 1993 年晋升为讲师。 1997-2000 年，在南京农业大学师从 于陈佩度 教授和刘大钧院士攻读作物遗传育种专业，植物基因组研究 方向 博士，获 农学 博士学位。 2000 年调入河南农业大学国家小麦工程技术研究中心工作。 2002 年晋升为副研究员，同时聘为硕士生导师。 主要从事小麦遗传育种和抗病分子机理研究。 曾主持完成和在研的重要科研项目有，国家教委高等学校重点实验室访问学者基金（ 2000-2001 ）； 2001 年度河南省科技厅科技攻关重点项目（ 123014400 ）； 2002 年度河南省杰出青年科学基金（ 02120000800 ）； 2005 年度河南省科技厅科技攻关重点项目（ 0523010700 ）； 2006 年度河南省杰出人才创新基金等项目。目前，已经在国际分子生物学信息中心 GenBank 登录小麦新基因 15 个，发表学术论文三十多篇，申请国家发明专利 2 项。
